GENERAL JOB DESCRIPTION

The primary responsibility of the Underwriter is to evaluate and assess all lines of coverage submitted, ensuring appropriate risk selection and pricing to meet profitability and growth targets.

Adherence to business timelines is essential.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Analyze applications for compliance with program standards.
  • Escalate accounts to the Carrier when limits of authority are exceeded.
  • Coordinate with Underwriting Assistants for documentation and clearance processes.
  • Examine underwriting reports, including risk assessments and valuation metrics.
  • Negotiate terms and pricing based on unique risk profiles.
  • Implement coverage limitations and deductible options as necessary.
  • Prepare and present quotes to brokers with comprehensive documentation.
  • Stay informed on company policies and adhere to underwriting restrictions.
  • Maintain thorough documentation in accordance with company protocols.
  • Issue policies following company guidelines, including invoicing procedures.
  • Process endorsements and manage related invoicing.
  • Review accounts for renewal profitability and generate quotes within set timelines.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements for documentation and tax filings.
