Vice President of Regional Market Operations

Profile

The Vice President of Regional Market Operations will be responsible for providing strategic leadership and oversight in financial and operational planning, as well as managing daily operations for associates within a designated Employer Group Region.

This role entails fiscal and operational supervision of the region, focusing on the development and management of cost of care strategies, risk management, financial forecasting, budgeting, and operational performance metrics. The position requires regular interaction with both regional and corporate leadership.


Key Responsibilities:


Collaborate with Employer Group Market and Regional leadership, product teams, actuaries, and underwriting to enhance cost of care trends and stimulate growth within the region.

Continuously monitor and manage operational performance and cost of care metrics in partnership with regional and central resources.

Establish and uphold management controls by identifying, tracking, measuring, and analyzing data to uncover issues, mitigate losses, manage costs, and drive process enhancements.

Work closely with Group, Network Strategy, and Clinical Analytics teams to ensure timely evaluation of relevant metrics.

Oversee Local Market Trend Management, including proactive reviews of the Book of Business to pinpoint cost improvement opportunities.

Engage in the Employer Group Trend and Growth Management Process, making informed decisions regarding cost of care initiatives.

Accountable for the implementation of approved market-specific cost of care strategies.

Foster relationships with internal and external stakeholders to enhance technical knowledge and performance outcomes.

Collaborate with the Group Risk Management office to ensure compliance within the region.

Direct the creation and execution of policies and procedures that adhere to federal and state regulations.

Lead the budgeting process for financial administrative expenses in the region.

Partner with Finance and Market Presidents to establish market and individual sales objectives.

Manage a market-aligned team and work closely with Retail RVPs of Operations to bolster the organization's standing in the region.

Recruit and nurture a high-performing team.

Collaborate with Employer Group and enterprise partners to implement essential business initiatives that promote profitable growth.


Required Qualifications:
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in operations and/or finance within the health solutions sector.
  • Demonstrated success in enhancing operational performance.
  • Ability to simplify complex data for leadership understanding.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of partner functions both within and outside the segment.
  • In-depth familiarity with the health insurance landscape and provider community trends.
  • Understanding of health plan finance and compensation structures.
  • Expertise in risk arrangements and the ability to influence these structures.
  • Experience in building and leading high-performing teams.
  • Exceptional communication and presentation abilities.
  • Proven collaborative skills.
  • Knowledge of Group products.
  • Awareness of federal and state healthcare regulations.
  • Bachelor's Degree in Business, Finance, Accounting, or a related field.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Certified Public Accountant designation.
  • Master's Degree in Business, Finance, Accounting, or a related field.
  • Experience collaborating with physician groups and market operations.
