POSITION OVERVIEW:

We are seeking a Senior Vice President of Strategic Partnerships who will lead all sales efforts and strategic initiatives aimed at accelerating H3X's revenue growth. The applications for our technology are diverse, and we require a leader who can thrive across various industries and market segments, categorized by power levels as follows:

  • Lower Power Applications: Defense Drones (UAVs), Unmanned Surface Vessels, Undersea ROVs, Distributed Electric Propulsion for Narrow-Body and Regional Aircraft, Electric Vertical Takeoff and Landing (eVTOL), Rockets and Space applications, Small Aircraft, and High-Performance Ground Vehicles.
  • MW-Class Applications: Larger Aircraft (Hybrid-Electric and Fully-Electric), Marine vessels including Ferries and Tugboats, Electrified Hydraulic Fracturing Pumps, Mining and Construction Equipment, Locomotives, Wind Turbines, and Power Generation.

All of H3X's products are dual-use, enabling next-generation electrified defense vehicles. The ideal candidate will possess prior experience in business development within the U.S. government and defense sectors. H3X has secured a Direct-to-Phase II contract with the Air Force and is actively working to integrate our products into key Programs of Record. The Senior Vice President of Strategic Partnerships must be adept at navigating the Department of Defense ecosystem and other governmental agencies to secure contracts that will yield substantial long-term revenue for H3X.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Develop a comprehensive technical understanding of our products and articulate their benefits to potential customers, engaging effectively with both engineers and business leaders.
  • Oversee the entire sales process, from initial engagement to finalizing contracts and purchase orders.
  • Draft and negotiate contracts, letters of intent, and purchase orders, collaborating closely with legal counsel and H3X leadership.
  • Lead negotiations and close deals that align with the company's financial and strategic objectives.
  • Manage inbound inquiries related to H3X's products, conducting initial meetings to evaluate product-customer fit and assess business opportunities.
  • Engage proactively with target customers and key decision-makers, fostering strong relationships beyond the confines of the office.
  • Prepare well-crafted proposals for SBIRs and commercial clients, coordinating internally with the H3X team as necessary.
  • Utilize business networks such as Ariba and Exostars to manage all relevant activities.
  • Represent H3X at industry conferences and trade shows, promoting our brand and technologies.
  • Build and lead a high-performing sales and business development team, instilling a culture of technical excellence, accountability, and integrity.
  • Collaborate with H3X leadership to define business development strategies and priorities.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • High intelligence, energy, and integrity.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in sales or business development within a hard-tech or deep-tech environment.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to convey complex technical concepts clearly.
  • Expertise in deal strategy and strong negotiation capabilities.
  • Thorough understanding of defense SBIR and acquisition processes.
  • Confident, humble, and open-minded approach.

  • Able to thrive in a fast-paced, high-growth startup atmosphere.
  • Experience in proposal writing for both commercial and defense sectors.
  • Ability to access export-controlled data and willingness to travel for in-person meetings with customers and stakeholders.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Advanced degree in a technical discipline.
  • Knowledge of electric motors and power electronics.
  • Experience in the aviation and aerospace sectors.
  • Familiarity with the marine industry.
  • Background in heavy industries such as locomotives, power generation, and mining.
