Job Title: Research and Development Engineer

Gallaudet University is seeking a highly skilled Research and Development Engineer to join our Technology Access Program. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for leading engineering activities and investigations on projects related to accessible technologies.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop technical solutions and software to support our research goals
  • Conduct experimentation with new and emerging technologies to determine barriers and opportunities for deaf and hard of hearing individuals
  • Support research grant principal investigators with engineering and software development
  • Contribute to engagement with researchers, industry, consumers, and policymakers on research findings and accessible technologies
  • Coordinate with GTS on computer support to the program and supervise others as needed
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field
  • Minimum of four years of professional experience with software development, data analysis, or a related field
  • Ability to communicate in American Sign Language
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Master's degree in a relevant field
  • Experience working in a higher education setting
