About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Data Engineer to join our team at Booz Allen Hamilton. As a Data Engineer, you will play a critical role in developing and maintaining our data platforms, working closely with cross-functional teams to design and implement scalable and secure data solutions.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and develop data pipelines and architectures to support AI research and development
  • Collaborate with data scientists and engineers to integrate data from various sources and build data applications
  • Develop and maintain data models, data warehouses, and data lakes to support business intelligence and analytics
  • Work with cloud platforms, including AWS and Azure, to design and implement cloud-based data solutions
  • Develop and maintain ETL workflows for reporting and analytics

Requirements
  • 3+ years of experience with AI, data science, ML engineering, data research, software engineering, or data analytics
  • Experience with cloud platforms, including AWS and Azure, and cloud engineering practices and programming languages, including Python, SQL, Scala, or Java
  • Experience working with relational database management systems (RDBMS)
  • Experience with relational or non-relational database technologies
  • Experience with data modeling techniques and creating solutions in a collaborative, cross-functional team environment
  • Experience with scripting languages, including Python and Bash or PowerShell
  • Experience leading the development of solutions to complex programs
  • Secret clearance
  • Bachelor's degree
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience building ETL workflows for reporting and analytics, and designing, developing, operationalizing, and maintaining data applications
  • Experience with containerization technologies, including Docker and Kubernetes, forward-leaning technology, including cloud automation platforms, and enterprise data, open-source tech stacks, and CI/CD pipelines
  • Experience with the Atlassian tool suite, including Jira and Confluence
  • Experience with Agile development techniques and ceremonies
  • Experience with natural language processing, text mining, or ML techniques
