About the Opportunity

We are seeking a highly skilled Data Engineer to join our team at Booz Allen Hamilton. As a Data Engineer, you will play a critical role in developing a data platform that will have a significant impact on our clients' ability to rapidly exploit the secrets held by a dataset.

Our team is passionate about leveraging the possibilities presented by IoT, machine learning (ML), and artificial intelligence (AI) to drive business value. We are looking for a talented individual who is fascinated by the potential of these technologies and is eager to contribute to the design and infrastructure development of AI research and pilot projects.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and develop data platforms that meet the evolving needs of our clients
  • Work with customers and end-users to understand their mission, architecture, and security requirements
  • Recommend tools and capabilities based on research of the environment and new technology
  • Identify new opportunities to build platform-based solutions to help clients meet their toughest challenges
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design and develop data applications
Requirements
  • 3+ years of experience with AI, data science, ML engineering, data research, software engineering, or data analytics
  • Experience with cloud platforms, including AWS and Azure, and cloud engineering practices and programming languages, including Python, SQL, Scala, or Java
  • Experience working with relational database management systems (RDBMS)
  • Experience with relational or non-relational database technologies
  • Experience with data modeling techniques and creating solutions in a collaborative, cross-functional team environment
  • Experience with scripting languages, including Python and Bash or PowerShell
  • Experience leading the development of solutions to complex programs
  • Secret clearance
  • Bachelor's degree
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience building ETL workflows for reporting and analytics, and designing, developing, operationalizing, and maintaining data applications
  • Experience with containerization technologies, including Docker and Kubernetes, forward-leaning technology, including cloud automation platforms, and enterprise data, open-source tech stacks, and CI/CD pipelines
  • Experience with the Atlassian tool suite, including Jira and Confluence
  • Experience with Agile development techniques and ceremonies
  • Experience with natural language processing, text mining, or ML techniques
Clearance
