POSITION OVERVIEW

Are you an enthusiastic and detail-oriented individual with a passion for Information Technology (IT)? The Health and Human Services (HHS) IT Delivery Center offers comprehensive IT services to all personnel within the Department of Human Services (DHS), the Department of Health (DOH), the Department of Drug and Alcohol Programs (DDAP), and the Pennsylvania Department of Aging (PDA). This role provides a unique opportunity to engage in various IT support activities within the department.


ROLE DESCRIPTION

The Information Technology Generalist 2 plays a vital role in delivering on-site IT assistance for the Department of Human Services (DHS), particularly for the Office of Mental Health and Substance Abuse (OMHSAS) and Clarks Summit State Hospital. This position also extends IT support to surrounding counties associated with DHS and DOH. Key responsibilities include troubleshooting, maintaining, and supporting the diverse IT systems at Clarks Summit State Hospital. The successful candidate will offer desktop IT support, manage mobile devices, provide network assistance, oversee asset management, and handle pbx/telephony support.

In this capacity, the Information Technology Generalist 2 will serve as a lead worker and technical authority for the Field Support Unit, undertaking additional responsibilities such as leading projects, coordinating on-site installations, training IT personnel, and addressing complex incidents.


Work Schedule and Additional Information:

  • Full-time position.
  • Standard working hours are from 8:00 am to 4:00 pm, Monday to Friday, with a 30-minute lunch break.
  • Telework Options: Eligible candidates may have the opportunity to work remotely part-time, up to two days per week, after completing the training period. A secure high-speed internet connection and an approved work location within Pennsylvania are required for telework. If teleworking is not feasible, candidates will have the option to report to the office.
  • Compensation: New hires will start at an annual salary of $66,000 before taxes.

QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS

Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

  • One year of experience as an Information Technology Generalist 1, Applications Developer 1, or Network Specialist 1; or
  • Four years of IT experience, including one year of technical experience in applications development, network operations, or IT support services; or
  • Two years of IT experience, including one year of technical experience, along with an associate's degree in any IT field; or
  • A bachelor's degree in any IT field; or
  • An equivalent combination of experience and training.

Other Requirements:

  • Must meet Pennsylvania residency requirements.
  • Ability to perform essential job functions is required.
