Position Overview

The Life Flight division operates a fleet of advanced helicopters, including SPIFR EC145s and BK117C1. We offer a competitive compensation package, including a signing bonus for pilots who commit to a three-year term, along with additional financial incentives for extra shifts.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage flight operations primarily for LF3, LF5, and LF6 bases.
  • Work on a 7 days on, 7 days off schedule.
  • Plan and prepare for flight assignments, ensuring all necessary briefing information is obtained.
  • Conduct pre-flight briefings with medical, communication, and ground teams.
  • Ensure aircraft readiness, including inspections, loading, fueling, and staffing.
  • Oversee the loading and distribution of cargo and passengers, ensuring compliance with weight and balance regulations.
  • File and manage flight plans, ensuring all logs and records are accurately maintained.
  • Monitor and address any mechanical discrepancies, coordinating with maintenance personnel as needed.
  • Participate in post-flight evaluations and maintain current navigation charts.
  • Uphold proficiency as Pilot-in-Command and in SPIFR operations.
Qualifications
  • FAA commercial pilot license with instrument rating.
  • Minimum of 2000 flight hours total, or 1500 hours with ATP rating.
  • At least 1500 hours of helicopter flight time.
  • 1000 hours as Pilot-in-Command.
  • 75 hours of actual or simulated instrument time, with at least 50 hours in actual flight.
  • 500 hours of cross-country flight experience.
  • 100 hours of night flight experience.

Work Environment

This role involves working in a dynamic environment, often in and around aircraft, with exposure to various elements. Candidates must be able to lift at least 50 pounds and may experience non-conventional motion, noise, and temperature variations. Education & Experience
  • High School Diploma or Equivalent (GED) required.
  • Preferred minimum of 1 year of related work experience.
Certifications
  • Certified Airline Transport Pilot.
  • Helicopter Instrument Training License (IFR).
  • Valid Driver's License.
  • FAA Commercial Helicopter License.
