Job Overview

We are looking for a dedicated **Construction Project Coordinator** to oversee the administrative functions of our retail construction projects.

Key Responsibilities
  • Evaluate contractor proposals, conducting thorough comparisons and validations to assist the Project Director/Manager in awarding contracts.
  • Assist in managing relationships with contractors and brand vendors to ensure seamless collaboration.
  • Monitor and manage project expenditures to ensure adherence to budgetary constraints.
  • Lead the construction timeline, ensuring milestones and deliverables are met efficiently.
  • Provide regular updates on project progress, including financials and timelines.
  • Verify the completion of contractor work to maintain quality standards.
  • Regularly update the project management platform for stakeholders and team members, ensuring all relevant documentation is organized.
  • Create a comprehensive list of potential bidders based on project location and verify timelines against the approved schedule.
  • Facilitate the bidding process, including the collection and comparison of bid submissions.
  • Engage in the evaluation and negotiation of bids to finalize contract terms and costs.
  • Issue the Notice of Award to selected contractors.
  • Track contractor mobilization and adherence to project milestones, participating in weekly project meetings.
  • Collect and assess weekly project reports, including photographic documentation, to monitor progress against schedules.
  • Review change orders from prime contractors and applicable subcontractors, managing all costs to remain within budget.
  • Ensure compliance with company standards in database and file management for project information tracking.
Qualifications
  • Strong administrative skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks effectively.
  • Detail-oriented with a proactive approach to problem-solving.
  • Excellent verbal, written, and organizational communication skills.
  • Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Building Construction, Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or Architecture.
  • 3-5 years of experience in construction or engineering administration.
  • Customer service-oriented, with the ability to assertively manage contractor relationships.
  • Proficient in problem-solving and providing field solutions.
  • Skilled in computer applications such as MS Office, Google Suite, project management software, and relevant construction tools.
  • Familiarity with Notion software is advantageous.
  • Experience in retail construction is a plus.
  • Understanding of construction processes, including change order reviews and budget management.
  • Knowledge of construction, engineering, and architectural principles.
  • Familiarity with contract documents, terms, and conditions.
  • Ability to interpret architectural and engineering drawings.
  • This position is primarily office-based but requires occasional travel to job sites across the US and Canada (up to 15% as necessary).
  • Compensation will be commensurate with experience.
