Job Summary

As a key member of the Marriott team, the Strategic Business Leader will be responsible for driving the overall success of the property. This includes overseeing all aspects of operations, from guest and employee satisfaction to financial performance and sales growth.

Key Responsibilities
  • Business Strategy Development
    • Stay up-to-date with industry trends and competitor analysis to inform business decisions.
    • Develop and implement business plans to maximize customer satisfaction, profitability, and market share.
    • Align property business plans with Marriott's global strategic plan.
  • Business Strategy Execution
    • Execute business plans to achieve desired outcomes.
    • Hold the property leadership team accountable for successful delivery of business plans.
    • Continuously evaluate and improve business strategies to inform future plan enhancements.
  • Sales and Marketing
    • Work closely with the Sales and Marketing team to develop revenue-generating strategies.
    • Identify new business leads and develop tailored sales approaches.
    • Ensure sales and marketing strategy is aligned with brand strategy and effectively executed against established goals.
  • Talent Management and Organizational Capability
    • Create a cohesive and high-performance Executive Committee.
    • Coach and hold team members accountable for performance.
    • Develop and execute development plans for direct reports.
  • Brand Champion
    • Serve as a passionate brand advocate and ensure the intent of the brand is reflected in the guest experience.
    • Communicate a clear and consistent message regarding property and brand goals.
    • Represent Marriott's values in all leadership actions.
  • Business Information Analysis
    • Review business-related data to inform business decisions.
    • Analyze data to proactively address changing market conditions and ensure property operates within budgetary guidelines.
  • Employee and Labor Relations
    • Ensure all employees are treated fairly and with respect.
    • Foster an environment of open communication and spend time with employees on the frontlines.
  • Revenue Management
    • Work with the Revenue Management team to develop effective pricing strategies.
    • Establish revenue strategies that support Marriott's brand positioning in the local market.
    • Ensure demand forecasting and sound revenue practices are in place to maximize yield.
  • Owner Relations
    • Build strong rapport with property owners through proactive and ongoing communication.
    • Keep owners informed of brand initiatives and guest experiences.
    • Provide owners with in-depth analysis of property performance.
  • Customer and Public Relations Management
    • Interact with guests and other customers to obtain feedback about their experiences.
    • Utilize guest feedback to recognize outstanding employee service performance and improve service delivery.
    • Establish presence in the market by promoting an exemplary property/brand image.
  • Company/Brand Policy, Procedures, and Standards Compliance
    • Verify property compliance with legal, safety, operations, labor, and Marriott brand product and service standards.
    • Conduct quality assurance audits and hold employees accountable for performing audits.
Benefits

The Strategic Business Leader will be eligible for a competitive salary range of $233,000 to $292,000 annually, as well as an annual bonus and restricted stock units/stock grants. Additionally, the position offers a comprehensive benefits package, including medical, dental, vision, health care flexible spending account, dependent care flexible spending account, life insurance, disability insurance, accident insurance, adoption expense reimbursements, paid parental leave, educational assistance, 401(k) plan, stock purchase plan, discounts at Marriott properties, commuter benefits, employee assistance plan, and childcare discounts.
