Key Responsibilities:Assist in fulfilling the data needs of the Capacity Planning division by improving and sustaining the Capacity Planning database.Recognize capacity-related issues and proactively collaborate with systems, network, and engineering teams to formulate metrics and uncover solutions.Develop a Plan of Record utilizing proprietary modeling tools to achieve an optimal equilibrium between data center assets and investments aligned with revenue-generating demand forecasts.Contribute to the creation of capacity planning instruments and engage with cross-functional teams to provide timely and precise forecasts.Ensure that capacity limitations and assumptions are identified, monitored, and communicated effectively.Establish data pipeline requirements in collaboration with data analytics teams to facilitate historical data tracking, dashboards & reporting, key metrics, and daily demand assessments across all product lines.Evaluate how hardware architecture and product modifications influence capacity and relay insights to teams and upper management.Engage in ongoing capacity planning data evaluations and conduct specialized analyses as unique situations arise.

Expectations:

A passion for data and data manipulation. Proficient in data analytics and workflows, especially with dbt and Airflow.Strong understanding of data structures, exceptional SQL capabilities, and comfort in designing and altering tables in a live database that supports other users.A background in performance management, systems administration, or capacity planning.Experience in communicating and collaborating across various departments including engineering, sales, finance, and program management.Proficient in data visualization techniques.Familiarity with programming languages such as Python, Perl, R, or Julia with a focus on data science. GoLang experience is advantageous.Experience in Linear Programming optimization or discrete event simulation is preferred.A BS or MS in Engineering, Computer Science, or Mathematics is preferred.Strong analytical and communication skills, a risk mitigation mindset, and the ability to demonstrate appropriate urgency.Experience with virtualization will be given strong consideration.
