Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Patient Registration Specialist to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for pre-registration, registration, and point of service collections, ensuring accurate and timely data entry into our computer systems.

Key Responsibilities
  • Verify patient demographic and benefit information for accuracy and completeness.
  • Identify and collect patient financial responsibility at the point of service.
  • Coordinate benefits, including Medicare Secondary Payer completion and coordination of benefits.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, including HIPAA and EMTALA.
  • Perform analytical problem-solving and basic math calculations.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with patients, families, and healthcare providers.
Requirements
  • High school graduate or equivalent required.
  • Associate degree in healthcare or business-related field preferred.
  • Bilingual capability (English/Spanish) desirable.
  • Previous experience in hospital or medical office patient access or financial services preferred.
  • Training experience a plus.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Knowledge of federal, commercial, and managed care payers.
  • Ability to operate concurrently within a variety of hospital systems.
  • Keyboarding skills with typing proficiency of 50 WPM.
  • Knowledge of organizational structure, workflow, and operating procedures.
