Full-Time Leadership Position
Overview
The Lead Patient Access Representative plays a crucial role in overseeing the daily operations of the Patient Access team. This position serves as a subject matter expert and provides essential support to Patient Access Representatives, ensuring that all interactions with patients and their families are positive and professional. The Lead Representative is responsible for effective communication and exemplary customer service, fostering a supportive environment for both staff and patients.
Core Duties
- Collaborates with colleagues, visitors, and other personnel in alignment with the values of the organization.
- Guarantees that all staff adhere to efficient and accurate registration protocols, excelling in all aspects of their roles.
- Ensures compliance with regulatory standards and institutional policies.
- Assigns daily tasks to team members.
- Conducts quality assurance checks on registrations to maintain accuracy and provides constructive feedback for improvement.
- Covers for team members during breaks and absences as necessary.
- Maintains a professional demeanor while interacting with patients, families, and colleagues, promoting a positive departmental atmosphere.
- Trains new employees on accurate data entry for orders, demographics, and insurance information, offering real-time coaching on workflow changes.
- Strives to meet individual and team performance goals.
- Engages with a diverse patient population while ensuring timely service delivery.
- Rotates responsibilities across various service points within Patient Access.
Qualifications
Full-Time Leadership Position
Required Skills and Knowledge:
Comprehensive understanding of patient registration processes, third-party insurance policies, and authorization requirements.
Proficient in computer applications, including Microsoft Office, and familiar with healthcare EHR systems such as EPIC and Cerner.
Demonstrated ability to provide constructive feedback and coaching to team members.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills, coupled with strong customer service abilities.
Education and Experience Requirements:
Educational Background:
High School Diploma or GED is mandatory.
Experience:
A minimum of three years of experience in patient registration is required.
Employment Conditions:
Vaccination against Covid-19 is mandatory for employment in clinical settings. Candidates not currently vaccinated must obtain the vaccination prior to the start date unless an approved medical or religious exemption is provided.
