Senior Financial Manager

Position Overview:
Staffing Ninja is a progressive, privately-held organization in search of a seasoned Senior Financial Manager to enhance our expanding team. The Senior Financial Manager will play a crucial role in directing financial oversight, which encompasses corporate accounting, compliance and financial reporting, budget formulation, and the establishment of internal controls. This position also entails managing financial risks and will report directly to the Chief Financial Officer (CFO).
Primary Responsibilities:
- Management of Accounting Operations: Supervise all accounting functions, including invoicing, accounts receivable (A/R), accounts payable (A/P), general ledger (GL), cost accounting, inventory management, and revenue recognition.
- Budgeting and Financial Projections: Lead and coordinate the development of budgets and financial forecasts, addressing variances as necessary.
- Financial Reporting: Generate and disseminate timely monthly financial statements, ensuring adherence to regulatory reporting standards.
- Technical Accounting Research: Investigate technical accounting matters to guarantee compliance with applicable standards.
- Closing Procedures: Assist in month-end and year-end closing processes, ensuring precision and punctuality.
- Quality Assurance: Uphold quality control over financial transactions and reporting.
- Regulatory Reporting and Tax Compliance: Oversee and ensure compliance with local, state, and federal reporting obligations and tax submissions.
- Internal Control Development: Create and document business processes and accounting policies to strengthen internal controls.
- Additional Responsibilities: Undertake other financial management duties as required.
Qualifications and Skills:
- Professional Experience: Demonstrated experience as a Senior Financial Manager, preferably within the Real Estate sector; experience in the hospitality industry is advantageous.
- Accounting and Finance Background: A minimum of 3+ years of combined experience in accounting and finance.
- Educational Background: An advanced degree in accounting is required; CPA or CMA certification is preferred.
- Financial Reporting Knowledge: Strong comprehension of financial reporting under US GAAP.
- Accounting Expertise: Extensive knowledge of accounting principles and practices, including financial statements and general ledger management.
- Software Proficiency: Skilled in accounting software; experience with Yardi Software is mandatory; familiarity with Great Plains software is a plus.
- Technical Proficiency: Expertise in financial management systems and effective management of month-end/year-end closing processes.
- IT Competence: Basic IT knowledge is essential.
- Willingness to Travel: Openness to domestic and international travel as required.
- Fieldwork and Site Assessments: Preparedness to conduct fieldwork and site assessments as necessary.
- Adaptability: Must possess a flexible schedule and be willing to work extended hours or weekends as needed.
