Job Overview

We are seeking a skilled Procurement Specialist II to join our team at Select Source International. This role is essential in ensuring that our raw material purchasing aligns with production and forecast demands.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Evaluate and interpret MRP messages to create raw material purchase orders and plans that fulfill production requirements.
  • Utilize SAP for effective procurement processes.
  • Proactively identify and address short-term material plans that may fall short of customer expectations.
  • Collaborate with production, sales, purchasing, and suppliers to coordinate the scheduling of raw material purchase orders.
  • Conduct supplier meetings and calls to address performance issues and drive improvements.
  • Employ strategic thinking to foresee potential issues and mitigate risks of production downtime due to material shortages.
  • Work closely with Quality Assurance and Supplier Quality teams to resolve material quality and supply challenges.
  • Oversee safety stock levels to balance minimizing downtime and avoiding excessive inventory.
  • Implement and manage Vendor Managed Inventory (VMI) programs, including EDI, to optimize inventory levels.
  • Assist in cycle counting and annual physical inventory processes.
Qualifications:
  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • A minimum of 3 years of experience in purchasing within the electronics sector, with a focus on material planning using MRP and ERP systems.
