Overview:
This position is intended to fill in for a full-time employee on leave, with an estimated duration of six months, subject to change based on organizational requirements. The hiring manager is also open to considering candidates interested in part-time work, provided they possess the necessary qualifications.
Key Requirements:
- Experience with SAP
- Background in supply chain management
The department focuses on the procurement of electronic components, including radios, circuitry, and transistors.
This is an onsite role, operating Monday through Friday from 7:30 AM to 4:30 PM.
Experience in electronic purchasing is advantageous.
Familiarity with circuit board procurement is a plus.
Job Responsibilities:
As a Buyer, your responsibilities will include:
- Evaluating and interpreting MRP messages to generate raw material purchase orders and plans that align with production and forecast demands.
- Utilizing SAP for procurement processes.
- Identifying and addressing short-term material plans that fail to meet customer expectations.
- Collaborating with production, sales, purchasing, and suppliers to schedule raw material purchase orders.
- Conducting supplier calls and in-person meetings when supplier performance falls short.
- Employing strategic thinking to foresee potential issues and proactively respond to prevent production downtime due to material shortages.
- Working alongside Quality and Supplier Quality teams to resolve manufacturing material quality and supply challenges.
- Managing safety stock levels to minimize downtime while avoiding excessive inventory.
- Implementing and overseeing supplier VMI programs, including EDI, to optimize inventory levels.
- Assisting with cycle counting and annual physical inventory processes.
Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or GED.
- A minimum of three years of purchasing experience in the electronics sector, with material planning experience using MRP and ERP systems.
Desired Skills:
- Additional years of experience in electronic component procurement are preferred.
- Prior experience in production control, planning, sourcing, or material control within the electronics industry is advantageous.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks effectively and prioritize work efficiently.
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel, including skills in PivotTables and VLOOKUP.
- APICS CPIM or ISM CPM certification is a plus.
- Strong analytical and organizational capabilities.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Demonstrated interpersonal and leadership abilities.
Compensation:
The hourly rate for this position is $24.47.
