Position Overview

The Night Auditor is responsible for the comprehensive auditing, balancing, and reporting of various hotel operations to ensure adherence to company policies and to mitigate the risk of fraud.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct thorough audits of all food and beverage services, including restaurants and room service, ensuring accurate cash and credit transactions.
  • Balance and verify front desk operations, focusing on room charges, adjustments, and deposits to maintain accuracy in cash handling.
  • Prepare and report on room performance metrics to assist management in understanding operational effectiveness.
  • Compile statistics and journal entries for daily financial reporting.
  • Close all bank ticket codes on a daily basis to ensure financial integrity.
  • Execute the final night audit after confirming all revenue streams are balanced.
  • Perform front desk duties, including processing express checkouts.
  • Support the Night Manager and Night Audit Supervisor as needed.
  • Assist with wake-up calls and other guest services as required.
  • Fulfill bell person duties when necessary.

Education and Experience
  • Preferred: Bachelor's Degree.
  • Required: High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Preferred: Experience in auditing within the hospitality sector.
  • Required: Proficiency with computer systems and office equipment.
Physical Requirements
  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods during an 8-hour shift.
  • Close visual acuity for data analysis and extensive reading.
  • Capability to bend and kneel while reaching below waist height.
  • Ability to exert up to 10 pounds of force occasionally.
  • Good dexterity for tasks such as typing and writing.
  • Ability to perform repetitive movements for extended periods.
  • Effective verbal communication skills for guest interactions.
  • Ability to navigate the hotel premises to complete assigned tasks.
