The Casual Cleaning Staff Member plays a vital role in supporting both permanent and temporary personnel with the upkeep, sanitation, setup, and dismantling for various activities at our venues. Key Responsibilities
  • Maintain cleanliness by sweeping and mopping floors.
  • Utilize vacuums and carpet-cleaning machines for carpet maintenance.
  • Ensure windows and doors are cleaned, trash is disposed of, and compactors are operated efficiently.
  • Sort waste into appropriate categories (compost, recyclables, mixed paper, construction debris, trash) and dispose of it correctly.
  • Sanitize restrooms, scrub toilets and urinals, mop floors, empty trash, and replenish supplies.
  • Clean offices, studios, corridors, and skyways.
  • Assist with outdoor maintenance tasks, including snow removal, weeding, and pressure washing sidewalks.
  • Set up and dismantle tables, chairs, and other equipment as per provided diagrams and verbal instructions.
  • Prepare the arena by arranging chairs before and after events.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.
Position Requirements
  • Must be at least 16 years of age.
Knowledge & Experience
  • Ability to comprehend spoken and written instructions.
  • Familiarity with general cleaning protocols and requirements.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively in a team-oriented environment with various staff members.
  • Experience with cleaning equipment is preferred.
  • General knowledge of building maintenance is advantageous.
  • Familiarity with tools, materials, and supplies used in cleaning and maintenance is a plus.
  • Experience in cleaning and maintenance within a large venue or hotel setting is beneficial.

  • Effective communication skills with colleagues and venue clients.
  • Ability to interact courteously with the general public.
  • Capability to work as part of a team in high-pressure situations.
Work Conditions
  • Work hours will vary based on the event schedule.
  • Availability to work evenings, weekends, holidays, and overnight shifts is required.
  • Must be able to work extended hours with minimal supervision.
  • Physical demands include sitting, walking, standing, bending, squatting, climbing stairs, kneeling, twisting, and lifting.
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds.
  • Outdoor work may be required throughout the year.
