Swift Navigation, Inc. is a leader in automotive precision GNSS technology, having secured projects for over 10 million ADAS-enabled and autonomous vehicles globally, collaborating with more than 20 automotive OEMs and suppliers, in addition to various mobile handset manufacturers.

Our premier offering, Skylark, is a continuous GNSS corrections service that ensures centimeter-level navigation accuracy. Skylark is supported by a worldwide network of GNSS stations, a robust data center infrastructure, and advanced monitoring algorithms, guaranteeing 99.9% uptime and fewer than 1 failure per 1,142 years of operation. To illustrate our capacity, we process approximately 1.4 billion satellite signals each hour.

We are seeking a Software Engineering Manager to oversee the team responsible for the architecture and applications of the Skylark service. The Skylark Applications Team comprises talented engineers with diverse skill sets, ranging from large-scale distributed systems architecture to front-end application development.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead a team of engineers dedicated to designing, developing, and delivering cloud services and applications utilized by millions of vehicles in real-time.
  • Collaborate closely with Product and Program teams to define, manage, and execute the team's strategic roadmap.
  • Ensure consistent delivery of high-quality services that align with the company's short and long-term goals.
  • Foster teamwork and collaboration at Swift, encouraging open dialogue and effective conflict resolution.
  • Promote a work culture that values support, cohesiveness, and effective collaboration.
  • Oversee the 24/7 operation of Skylark Applications, implementing best practices to enhance uptime and reliability.
  • Provide accurate time estimates and scope for work products; efficiently manage resources and proactively plan for future needs.
  • Guide and direct team members to align their work with company strategy and software development best practices.
  • Mentor and develop staff daily, including onboarding new hires, providing regular feedback, and facilitating career development opportunities.
  • Articulate and execute a clear vision for the team.
  • Enhance engineering quality through appropriate processes and automation.
  • Maintain a positive team culture through regular communication and feedback mechanisms.
  • Clarify ownership and decision-making processes within the team.
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Electrical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or a related field.
  • 3-5 years of experience leading a team of 5 or more software engineers.
  • Proficiency in one or more programming languages such as C++, Go, Rust, or Python.
  • Experience in architecting, operating, and managing enterprise-grade cloud services.
  • Familiarity with Kubernetes.
  • Experience with front-end frameworks, including React, and developing user-friendly interfaces.
  • Knowledge of authentication systems and security best practices.
  • Experience with streaming data infrastructure.
  • Proficient in REST APIs.
  • Experience with relational databases (Postgres/MySQL).
  • Familiarity with continuous integration/continuous deployment (CI/CD) pipelines.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to make informed, scalable decisions.
  • Experience in people management, emphasizing a people-first approach and commitment to employee development and engagement.
  • Demonstrated technical leadership across teams.
  • High emotional intelligence and exceptional interpersonal skills.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with proficiency in English, both written and spoken.
  • A strong desire for continuous learning.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience in software development for regulated industries (e.g., automotive, aerospace, medical devices), with knowledge of relevant standards and certifications.
  • Experience operating real-time sensor networks such as GNSS, weather stations, etc.
  • Familiarity with automated testing frameworks for large-scale distributed systems.
  • Knowledge of ETL best practices and visualizing large datasets.
  • Experience with gRPC and MQTT.

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $177,000 - $225,000 + equity + benefits. Salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location, with individual pay based on job-related skills, experience, and education. Compensation details reflect base salary only and do not include bonuses, equity, or benefits.
