ROLE OVERVIEW
As a key engineer at Bright Machines, you will play a vital role in defining and executing the systems that enable Software Defined Manufacturing. Our advanced automation solutions and software applications are integrated into factories to streamline the assembly of essential components required for the development of modern AI-driven factories, supporting manufacturing operations for leading industry players.
Our comprehensive solution encompasses on-premises equipment, including a complete network stack (switches, routers, firewalls) and bastion hosts that connect to the Cloud, along with software applications that operate and monitor robotic assembly lines both on-site and in the Cloud.
You will collaborate closely with R&D, Software Engineering, and IT teams to create scalable and secure Cloud Infrastructure that supports mission-critical applications and services integral to our intelligent assembly automation solutions. Your expertise will be crucial in designing, developing, and managing our Cloud Infrastructure across multiple cloud service providers.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES- Cloud and Hybrid Infrastructure Design:
- Lead the architecture and implementation of secure, scalable, and highly available cloud and hybrid infrastructures utilizing infrastructure as code (IaC).
- Work with application teams to establish cloud architecture, strategies, and best practices.
- Infrastructure as Code:
- Create and maintain IaC templates using tools such as Terraform, CloudFormation, or similar technologies.
- Ensure that infrastructure is version-controlled, automated, and adheres to DevOps methodologies.
- Implement and oversee CI/CD pipelines for infrastructure deployment and updates.
- Security and Compliance:
- Ensure that cloud infrastructure complies with security best practices and regulatory requirements (e.g., SOC 2, ISO).
- Establish and manage security controls, observability, monitoring, and logging to safeguard cloud resources.
- Conduct regular security evaluations and audits.
- Scalability and Performance:
- Devise and implement strategies for scalability, performance enhancement, and cost management.
- Monitor system performance, identify bottlenecks, and initiate improvements.
- Develop disaster recovery and business continuity strategies.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related discipline (or equivalent experience).
- Over 10 years of experience in cloud infrastructure engineering, including at least 2 years in a technical leadership role.
- Demonstrated success in building and maintaining Cloud Infrastructure for mission-critical SaaS applications/services.
- Expertise in public cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.
- Strong experience with infrastructure as code tools (Terraform, CloudFormation, etc.).
- Proficiency in Docker, Kubernetes, and containerization technologies.
- Familiarity with a programming language (e.g., Python, Go, Java, C++) and scripting/automation (e.g., Bash, PowerShell).
- Comprehensive understanding of cloud security principles and best practices.
- Experience with CI/CD pipelines and tools (e.g., Jenkins, GitLab CI, CircleCI).
- AWS Certified Solutions Architect, Azure Solutions Architect Expert certifications.
- Experience with machine learning-based applications.
