Position Summary

The Private Grants Manager serves as the innovative leader in overseeing the private grant process at Three Square. This role is essential in merging creativity with strategic insight to develop engaging narratives from private funding opportunities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct thorough research to discover private grant opportunities that align with the mission of Three Square.
  • Craft compelling grant proposals that effectively communicate complex concepts in a manner that resonates with potential funders.
  • Establish and nurture positive relationships with grantors, addressing inquiries and providing essential information as required.
  • Collaborate with program managers and finance teams to ensure grant proposals align with organizational goals and grantor expectations.
  • Analyze and interpret data to support grant proposals and reporting requirements.
  • Monitor private grant activities to ensure adherence to grantor requirements and reporting standards.
  • Assist in tracking financial data related to private grants in conjunction with the Grants Administration team.
  • Ensure the accuracy and integrity of all reporting measures and financial documentation related to grants.
  • Prepare and submit timely grant reports in accordance with grant agreements.
  • Provide writing assistance to the Development and Marketing teams for various communications, including major funding requests and annual reports.
  • Maintain an understanding of both government and private grants to effectively support the organization’s grant strategy.
  • Facilitate effective communication across departments to ensure compliance throughout the grant lifecycle.
  • Identify challenges within the internal grant process and propose actionable solutions.
  • Contribute to the development and upkeep of Standard Operating Procedures for the Grants Administration department.
  • Manage sensitive information with confidentiality.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Education and Experience

A Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution is required, preferably in a related field such as Non-Profit Management, English, Public Health, or Public Administration. A minimum of five years of relevant operational experience and expertise in grants writing and management within a non-profit or governmental context is preferred.

Skills and Abilities

The ideal candidate will possess strong creative and strategic writing abilities, demonstrating proficiency in crafting persuasive narratives. Exceptional organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously are essential. Proficiency in donor management software and familiarity with grant proposal processes is advantageous. Strong analytical skills and the ability to adapt to new software tools will enhance operational efficiency.

Work Environment

This role involves working indoors in a controlled environment, with regular use of computers and telecommunication devices. Occasional evening work and travel may be required.
