Key Responsibilities:
Team Leadership:
Oversee and mentor a team of manufacturing engineers, providing direction and support to ensure the successful delivery of engineering projects and objectives.
Process Optimization:
Identify opportunities for process enhancement, cost savings, and productivity improvements within manufacturing operations. Formulate and implement strategies to streamline manufacturing workflows, minimize waste, and boost overall efficiency.
Product Launch Coordination:
Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams, including design and production, to ensure the seamless integration of new products into manufacturing. Guarantee that production methods are equipped to meet quality, cost, and delivery benchmarks for new product introductions.
Continuous Improvement:
Foster a culture of ongoing enhancement by advocating for Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, and other improvement methodologies. Lead or assist in initiatives related to process refinement, cycle time reduction, and quality enhancement.
Technical Support:
Provide specialized knowledge and assistance to the manufacturing floor, addressing technical challenges, troubleshooting issues, and implementing corrective measures. Work alongside production staff to tackle manufacturing obstacles and enhance overall product quality.
Equipment Selection:
Assess and choose suitable equipment, tools, and technologies for manufacturing processes. Collaborate with equipment suppliers, maintenance teams, and internal stakeholders to ensure proper installation, upkeep, and calibration of manufacturing machinery.
Documentation Management:
Create and maintain manufacturing engineering documentation, including process guidelines, work instructions, and standard operating procedures. Ensure adherence to industry standards, regulations, and quality management protocols.
Cost Analysis:
Monitor manufacturing expenditures, evaluate cost factors, and devise strategies to lower costs while upholding quality standards. Partner with procurement and supply chain teams to optimize material expenses and supplier relations.
Software System Oversight:
Manage Manufacturing Software Systems (MES, ERP, WMS) and oversee production data reporting.
Qualifications:
A bachelor's degree in engineering or a related discipline is generally required. A master's degree may be preferred, particularly for managerial roles.
Expertise in Manufacturing Engineering:
Comprehensive understanding of manufacturing processes, methodologies, and best practices. Strong grasp of Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, and other process enhancement tools.
