The mission of Grant a Gift Autism Foundation (GGAF) – Ackerman Center is to assist children, young adults, and their families in navigating the complexities of autism by offering access to premier diagnostic and therapeutic services, vocational initiatives, family support, and case management for all families confronting the challenges associated with autism and other neurodevelopmental disorders.

The Programs Team delivers direct services to clients through a variety of initiatives. These initiatives encompass Early Start Denver Model (ESDM), Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA), Social Skills Groups, Daily Living Skills Groups, and Vocational Groups.

Role Summary

The Board-Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) operates under the continuous clinical supervision of the Programs Manager. The BCBA is responsible for conducting individual and group clinical assessments, providing family training and support programming, and delivering treatment for individuals up to twenty-four years old who are diagnosed with or at risk for neurodevelopmental delays and disabilities, as well as social, emotional, and behavioral disorders. Additionally, BCBAs will oversee the clinical supervision of RBTs/Interventionists and Fieldwork Experience Candidates.

Key Responsibilities

Direct Clinical Services

  • Conduct assessments necessary for delivering behavior-analytic services.
  • Develop, document, and revise programming as required for various service initiatives, including ESDM, ABA, Social Skills Groups, Daily Living Skills Groups, and Vocational Groups.
  • Implement behavioral programming in both individual and group environments.
  • Gather data on all programming, evaluate progress, and compose progress notes.
  • Consult with families and other center personnel as needed.
  • Collaborate with all other personnel in patient care settings.
  • Educate patients and families on treatment programs and protocols.
  • Model and provide appropriate behavioral strategies for children and families, along with conducting regular parent training sessions.
  • Engage in weekly training and supervision for direct care staff (i.e., interventionists, RBTs) alongside the Programs Manager.
  • Communicate clinical findings, offer recommendations, and support program development during various meetings with the collaborative team, families, and funding sources.
  • Manage a caseload that encompasses a variety of ages, diagnoses, programs, and funding source requirements.
  • Supervise clients and RBTs across all clinical programs (1:1 ABA, Groups, Vocational).
  • Participate in initial and ongoing assessments, under supervision, for various protocols (i.e., ESDM Checklist, FBA, VB-MAPP, Vineland, AFLS) to create and maintain individualized programming for each client.
  • Provide program-specific professional reports and billing in accordance with funding source requirements.
  • Travel to community sites to provide ongoing supervision for vocational programming.
  • Work a flexible schedule, including weekends.
  • Adhere to ethical and practice guidelines established by the BACB board.

Administrative Responsibilities

  • Understand and comply with established policies and procedures.
  • Complete supervision logs and maintain a block schedule to ensure productivity is achieved.
  • Attend multidisciplinary meetings to collaborate with clinical staff (e.g., Clinical Director, Operations Manager, Medical Staff).
  • Participate in in-service programs and present as assigned.
  • Communicate with community partners under the guidance of the Programs Manager to ensure the success of vocational programs.
  • Engage in special events throughout the year to support the fundraising efforts of Grant a Gift Autism Foundation Ackerman Center.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Master's degree from an accredited institution in Applied Behavior Analysis, Psychology, Special Education, or a related field.
  • Current BCBA Certification.
  • Current or eligible for Nevada Licensure.
  • Must possess reliable transportation.

  • Experience in conducting behavioral assessments, treatment planning, and program design.
  • Advanced proficiency in Discrete Trial Teaching, Incidental Teaching, Functional Communication Training, Verbal Behavior, and Natural Environment training.
  • Knowledge and experience with Vocational and ESDM programming preferred.
  • A minimum of one year of experience in a supervisory role (as a BCBA or BCaBA) providing direction to multiple levels of direct service staff (BCaBAs and RBTs); or an equivalent combination of education at or above a Master's Level and experience as described above.
  • Advanced proficiency in using a personal computer and current software applications, including but not limited to Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Access, and email).

  • May necessitate working on a special schedule (i.e., evenings and weekends with clients).
  • May include working with challenging patients and clients.
  • May require lifting up to 50 pounds.
