Position Summary
This role is primarily field-based, and candidates should reside within a reasonable distance from the designated primary city.
The geographical focus includes various states, and we welcome applicants from these regions.
The Lead Oncology Sales Strategist is tasked with guiding, motivating, and nurturing a dynamic team of Oncology Account Executives. This position also acts as the primary liaison between Allergan and selected healthcare institutions, including prominent Oncology Practices, Academic Institutions, and specific Integrated Delivery Networks (IDNs), to manage the overall oncology business relationship and implement Allergan's oncology business strategy within the assigned territory.
Key Responsibilities:
- Executing franchise objectives, strategies, and tactics to achieve or surpass sales targets.
- Promoting and enhancing the evolution of franchise culture.
- Recruiting and developing a diverse pool of top talent, providing growth and exposure opportunities.
- Leading a team of Oncology Account Executives, focusing on their professional growth.
- Fostering a positive, patient-centered team environment.
- Developing multi-tiered customer relationships.
- Ensuring engagement with key influencers and decision-makers.
- Overseeing a high-performing Account Team with an emphasis on Key Account Management.
- Possessing in-depth knowledge of Oncology Care Models, specialty pharmacy, treatment protocols, and quality measures and their implications on oncology practices.
- Facilitating effective communication throughout the organization.
- Building and maintaining strong partnerships with co-promotion allies.
- Aligning and coordinating all field sales initiatives with co-promote partners.
- Continuously generating innovative ideas to drive success.
- Ensuring adherence to Allergan's policies, procedures, and code of conduct.
- Optimizing resource allocation (both financial and human) to maximize return on investment.
- Utilizing approved market data and insights effectively.
- Developing and executing a Regional Business Plan that incorporates key accounts in close collaboration with the in-field team and co-promote partners.
- Creating and nurturing a positive, patient-focused team environment.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree.
- A minimum of five years of direct pharmaceutical sales experience, with prior sales management experience preferred.
- Experience in personnel and account management, a proven track record of successful sales performance, and strong collaborative skills.
- High level of strategic, analytical, and industry expertise is essential.
- Demonstrated strong analytical and technical skills.
- Ability to introduce new ideas and creative strategies to enhance business performance.
- Strong support for franchise and corporate initiatives.
- Timely follow-through on deadlines and requests.
- Exceptional prioritization and organizational skills.
- Strong presentation capabilities.
- Ability to assess the business landscape and formulate strategies to boost sales.
Applicants must meet all applicable healthcare industry representative credentialing requirements to gain and maintain access to facilities and organizations within the assigned territory.
Travel requirements: 30%-50%, depending on the candidate's location.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Advanced Degree or Clinical Degree.
- Residence in the specific team's geographic area or within close driving distance.
- At least one year of experience leading Account Managers and/or sales representatives and co-promotion experience.
Additional Information:
This job is eligible for participation in short-term and long-term incentive programs.
