Position Summary

WSP is in search of a Vice President of Environmental Engineering to become a vital part of our Earth & Environment remediation team. We seek a candidate with extensive consulting experience and technical acumen who is eager to contribute to a growing organization. The chosen individual will deliver expert technical support and leadership across a wide array of environmental engineering services, including multi-site environmental assessments, remediation, water and wastewater engineering, environmental compliance, remedial design, and the implementation of cutting-edge remediation technologies.

Your Contributions
  • Oversee and direct data collection initiatives, including the gathering and analysis of environmental data from various samples such as air, soil, and water for projects and investigations.
  • Conduct professional environmental engineering tasks and manage comprehensive site investigations, ensuring compliance with applicable regulations and standards.
  • Lead environmental site assessments, including Phase I and II evaluations.
  • Assist in the engineering review of permit applications and design plans to ensure adherence to relevant regulations and sound engineering practices.
  • Engage with public and private entities to address various environmental issues and programs.
  • Ensure that technical reports and presentations effectively communicate research findings and recommendations for environmental issues.
  • Develop strategic action plans for pollution control and environmental management programs.
  • Manage larger-scale engineering projects, ensuring timely contributions from team members and overseeing project budgets and performance.
  • Build a client base for high-level environmental engineering services and identify additional business development opportunities.
  • Mentor team members to foster their professional growth and stay updated on the latest environmental engineering techniques.
  • Collaborate with professionals from diverse disciplines to deliver innovative solutions for clients.
  • Exercise ethical decision-making regarding company resources and adhere to WSP's Code of Conduct.
  • Take on additional responsibilities as needed based on business requirements.
Qualifications

Essential Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering or a closely related field from an ABET-accredited institution.
  • A minimum of 10 years of relevant post-education experience in civil or environmental engineering, with a Professional Civil Engineer license in California.
  • Completion of 40-Hour OSHA Health & Safety Training (HAZWOPER).
  • Strong proficiency in engineering principles and their application to environmental remediation.
  • In-depth knowledge of environmental laws, regulations, and compliance practices.
  • Experience in conducting site investigations, feasibility studies, and remedial design.
  • Familiarity with various remediation technologies for addressing soil and water contaminants.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, capable of engaging effectively with clients and stakeholders.
  • Ability to lead and mentor team members while adhering to quality assurance and control standards.
  • Strong technical writing skills and experience in preparing complex technical documents.
  • Well-developed critical thinking and problem-solving abilities.
  • Proven project management skills, including contract and budget management.
  • Demonstrated commitment to workplace safety and adherence to company policies.
  • Willingness to travel as required for project needs.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Master's Degree in Engineering.
  • Basic First Aid and Adult CPR training.

Compensation Information:

The expected salary range for this position is $130,100 - $193,380, based on the successful applicant's qualifications and experience. WSP reserves the right to adjust compensation based on various factors, ensuring fairness and equity in pay practices.
