Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct civil and landfill design, along with site layout planning;
- Perform geotechnical analyses, including slope stability, settlement assessments, bearing capacity evaluations, seismic considerations, and seepage analysis;
- Oversee geotechnical and environmental site characterization, including field exploration;
- Design shallow and deep foundations, focusing on bearing capacity, settlement, and both axial and lateral capacities;
- Develop and manage instrumentation monitoring systems;
- Assist in project management and proposal preparation;
- Create engineering reports, design calculations, drawings, technical specifications, cost estimates, and permit applications;
- Engage in fieldwork related to design and construction services;
- Monitor civil construction projects;

Depending on your experience level, you may also be tasked with project management responsibilities, business development, and mentoring junior staff.


Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in civil or geotechnical engineering (required);
- Advanced degree in the same field (optional);
- Professional registration (e.g., P.E.) (optional);

Experience and Skills:
- A minimum of 5 years of relevant experience, with 7+ years preferred, or an equivalent combination of education and experience (required);
- Strong foundation in geotechnical engineering principles and practices (required);
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and related software (required);
- Familiarity with modeling/design tools such as AUTOCAD, Slope/W, Seep/W, Sigma/W, Slide2D, Slide3D, PLAXIS 2D, LPILE, and gINT (optional);
- Willingness to engage in regular fieldwork and travel (required);
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills (required);
- Health & Safety training, medical monitoring, and client-driven drug and background testing may be necessary;
- Valid U.S. driver's license and a satisfactory driving record for business travel (required).

Compensation:

Salary Range:
Minimum: $98,140/year / Maximum: $147,275/year (Los Angeles)
Minimum: $93,875/year / Maximum: $140,870/year (Costa Mesa)
