We are seeking a dedicated Project Engineer to enhance our team at Dragados. This role involves collaborating with the Design and Engineering team, which is responsible for overseeing the design of major infrastructure projects.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Facilitate project meetings to gather and share vital project information.
  • Review technical specifications and drawings, addressing any issues that arise.
  • Coordinate the flow of technical information between the company and stakeholders.
  • Develop comprehensive work plans and procedures to initiate construction and secure necessary approvals.
  • Manage Requests for Information (RFIs) and Field Design Changes (FDCs) related to design, as well as Non-Conformance Report (NCR) resolutions.
  • Schedule and monitor project activities to ensure timely completion, including follow-ups with external suppliers.
  • Create detailed bills of materials based on project drawings and specifications.
  • Evaluate supplier quotations, considering cost standards and technical information.
  • Identify potential conflicts or delays in the construction process through thorough review of project drawings.
  • Ensure accurate representation of project charges for accounting purposes.
  • Oversee subcontractors and manage change orders throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Conduct Quality Control and Quality Assurance inspections.
  • Support the implementation of Safety, Health, and Environmental programs.

Qualifications:

Required:

  • Bachelor's Degree from an accredited institution.
  • A minimum of 7 years of experience in a construction or engineering environment.

Preferred:

  • Degree in Civil Engineering or Construction Management.
  • Professional Engineer License.
  • Field experience in heavy civil projects.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Familiarity with Primavera P6 Scheduling Software.
  • Excellent communication skills, both oral and written.
  • Goal-oriented with a strong ability to follow up with vendors and subcontractors.
  • Interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate across all organizational levels.
  • Strong organizational skills to plan, prioritize, and monitor activities and projects.
