SUMMARY

In the role of Safety and Environmental Compliance Officer, reporting directly to the Director of Human Resources, your primary objective will be to cultivate a robust safety culture and ensure a healthy work environment throughout our organization. You will be instrumental in the development and execution of safety initiatives, enforcing compliance with policies, conducting training sessions, inspections, audits, and job safety analyses to adhere to various regulations. Your efforts will focus on minimizing workplace injuries, enhancing operational processes, and spearheading safety programs aimed at achieving zero incidents.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES include:

  • Advocate for and uphold Toyo's commitment to a zero-accident safety culture.
  • Act as a vital member of the Company's Safety Committee.
  • Conduct regular facility inspections to identify potential safety hazards.
  • Facilitate safety meetings and training workshops.
  • Investigate workplace incidents and communicate findings to the Director of Human Resources.
  • Formulate action plans to address identified hazards and deficiencies.
  • Stay informed on safety regulations and implement relevant safety policies.
  • Manage site visits and inspections by regulatory agencies.
  • Oversee emergency response and crisis management strategies.
  • Ensure adherence to safety programs and regulatory requirements.
  • Provide support and guidance to management and staff regarding safety policies.
  • Maintain accurate safety documentation and reports.
  • Recognize and celebrate safe practices within the organization.
  • Perform additional related duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Comprehensive understanding of safety and environmental regulations.
  • Experience in developing and implementing safety programs.
  • Knowledge of COVID-19 prevention protocols.
  • Familiarity with workers' compensation processes.
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively.
  • Strong communication and leadership capabilities.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
  • Willingness to travel as necessary.
  • Commitment to Company policies and safety standards.

EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE

A Bachelor's Degree in Environmental Sciences/Engineering or Occupational Safety, along with 5-7 years of relevant safety experience in a warehouse or manufacturing setting. A valid driver's license is required.

Certifications such as First Aid/CPR/AED, OSHA 30-hour, or CSP are advantageous.
