WSP is looking for a Senior Environmental Engineering Consultant to join our team. This role involves delivering environmental consulting solutions for a diverse range of public and private sector clients. A solid background in process engineering and experience with treatment facilities for water and groundwater at substantial flow rates is essential. We seek a proactive individual who can manage projects of varying complexity and is eager to mentor and develop a cohesive support team. This role encompasses both office-based and fieldwork responsibilities.

Your Contributions
  • Lead and oversee technical assignments, managing entire projects or specific project components.
  • Guide a team in executing remedial engineering tasks for pilot tests and subsequent design, construction, and operational phases.
  • Provide technical oversight and mentorship to environmental engineering personnel, ensuring adherence to environmental regulations, company policies, and project specifications.
  • Supervise engineering teams conducting field programs and managing subcontractors as necessary.
  • Oversee the formulation and execution of project scopes, timelines, and financial plans.
  • Engage in business development initiatives to attract new clients to WSP.
  • Prepare proposals and assist in the management of large-scale proposal submissions.
  • Direct and support staff in performing calculations and supervising junior and mid-level engineers in environmental engineering and remediation tasks.
  • Mentor staff in identifying and resolving discrepancies in project results.
  • Conduct engineering reviews and provide guidance to staff on technical calculations and reporting.
  • Represent WSP professionally in interactions with clients, regulators, and subcontractors.
  • Travel to project sites as required.
  • Comprehend and apply health and safety standards relevant to the company, clients, and project sites.
Candidate Profile

Essential Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Environmental, Civil, Sanitary, or Chemical Engineering.
  • 7 to 10 years of relevant experience in process engineering for water or wastewater treatment facilities and their operations.
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license in California is mandatory.
  • Experience in the following areas is preferred:
    • Process engineering and its application in the construction and implementation of water treatment facilities.
    • Strong work ethic, self-motivated, with excellent written and verbal communication skills.
    • Proficiency in MS Office and strong computer skills.
    • Ability to work effectively as part of a team to achieve common goals.
    • Willingness to work outside standard business hours when necessary; fieldwork may involve adverse weather conditions or hazardous materials.
  • Must successfully complete a physical examination, background check, and possess a valid driver's license with a satisfactory driving record.
Desirable Qualifications:
  • Master's Degree in Civil, Chemical, or Mechanical Engineering.
  • Experience or training in Project Management.
  • Completion of 40-Hour OSHA Health & Safety Training (HAZWOPER) is preferred.
  • Basic First Aid and Adult CPR training is advantageous.
  • Familiarity with NSF operations for water treatment is a plus.

Compensation:

The expected salary range for this position is $115,500 - $153,900, reflecting the company's commitment to equitable compensation based on education, experience, and geographic location.
