ROLE SUMMARY:

The Senior Vice President of Credit Oversight is tasked with steering the independent Credit Review function within the Bank. This role encompasses ensuring adherence to the Credit Review Policy, executing the annual Credit Review Plan, and managing both internal personnel and external co-source partners to fulfill scheduled engagements. The Director will supervise the team and designated examiners to facilitate the logistics and execution of thorough credit portfolio evaluations and an ongoing credit review monitoring initiative.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the implementation of the Credit Review Policy, Standards, and Procedures that underpin the Credit Review framework.
  • Conduct a comprehensive Credit Review Risk Assessment of the Bank's credit portfolios, addressing credit and operational risks, regulatory compliance, and financial reporting.
  • Formulate and execute an annual Credit Review Plan aimed at conducting extensive portfolio assessments to evaluate asset quality and management effectiveness, alongside continuous monitoring and targeted reviews.
  • Assist in the preparation and execution of the financial budget.
  • Facilitate the selection of third-party co-source firms, drafting master service agreements and statements of work, while overseeing vendor performance and compliance.
  • Direct Credit Review activities conducted by internal staff and external partners, ensuring that team members possess the necessary expertise for effective portfolio evaluations.
  • Guarantee that the Credit Review team accurately validates asset quality risk ratings and portfolio management requirements, ensuring thorough analysis of financial statements, cash flow, industry trends, and collateral evaluations.
  • Develop credit risk findings, pinpointing root causes of discrepancies, and securing corrective action commitments from management. Monitor and report on the status of open credit review issues.
  • Collaborate with the Examiner in Charge to prepare comprehensive Credit Review reports, communicating findings to management and the Risk Committee.
  • Maintain compliance with SOX processes and controls relevant to the function.
  • Engage in due diligence reviews for portfolio acquisitions.
  • Support regulatory examinations and internal audit activities.
  • Manage and mentor internal staff, overseeing daily operations, delegating tasks, and providing necessary training. Set annual objectives, conduct performance evaluations, and participate in recruitment processes.
  • Offer credit risk and business advisory insights to lending management and credit administration, recommending process improvements and efficiencies.
  • Demonstrate ethical conduct, respect for diversity, and a commitment to organizational values.
  • Ensure a safe working environment, adhering to occupational safety standards and reporting any unsafe conditions.
  • Perform additional duties and projects as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Exceptional communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively with all levels of management, employees, auditors, and regulators.
  • Strong organizational and project management capabilities.
  • Advanced knowledge of banking and accounting regulations.
  • Proficient in analyzing complex problems with multiple variables.
  • Ability to make balanced decisions with significant implications.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
  • 8-10 years of experience in leading credit risk management teams, including credit review and regulatory supervision.
  • Bachelor's degree in business administration, finance, accounting, or economics.
  • Completion of Credit Risk Certification or a formal credit program at a commercial bank is preferred.

SALARY RANGE: $190,000.00 USD; compensation may vary based on skills and experience.
