Position Overview:
HITT Contracting is in search of a Senior Vice President (SVP) to take on the role of Business Unit Leader (BUL) for our Santa Clara office. The BUL will oversee and direct multiple project teams to ensure outstanding results for our clients while driving profitability for the organization. This leader will identify project opportunities across various accounts, define winning strategies for their team, and ensure that projects align with our risk management practices, facilitating smooth execution from inception to completion. This role reports to an Executive Vice President.

Key Responsibilities:
- Prioritize safety as the foremost concern, ensuring compliance with OSHA standards and readiness for emergencies.
- Formulate a long-term strategic plan to cultivate and sustain relationships with both current and prospective clients.
- Utilize a robust pipeline of work for new and existing clients, generating consistent opportunities across the enterprise.
- Serve as the executive sponsor and approver for all project pursuits while overseeing subcontractor engagement to promote equitable awarding practices and supplier diversity.
- Document and communicate all risk-related matters appropriately, resolving subcontractor disputes at the business unit level.
- Conduct site visits to verify that project milestones are achieved and review health checks to address any challenges.
- Establish and meet revenue and profitability targets, ensuring the financial health of the business unit.
- Facilitate effective team and resource allocation by attracting and recruiting top-tier, diverse talent, supporting career development, and creating a succession plan for the business unit.
- Lead by example, fostering engagement and transparency to nurture an inclusive and positive workplace culture.
- Leverage HITT's strengths to position the enterprise for success and identify opportunities for competitive advantage in the market.
- Engage in community outreach and represent the company in various initiatives while providing insights as part of the internal executive committee.
- Exhibit humility, emotional intelligence, and adaptability when receiving feedback.
Qualifications:
- A four-year degree from an accredited institution in construction, engineering, or business is strongly preferred.
- Additional relevant work experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.
- Experience in the Santa Clara market is highly desirable.
- Proficiency in software systems such as Procore, scheduling tools (e.g., Microsoft Project, SureTrak, Primavera 6), Microsoft Dynamics CRM, Bluebeam, and JD Edwards is essential.
- OSHA 30-hour certification is required.
- Strong business communication skills, both written and verbal, are necessary.
