Job Summary:
The Senior Vice President, Credit Review Director plays a pivotal role in steering the independent Credit Review function within the Bank. This position is tasked with ensuring adherence to the Credit Review Policy, executing the annual Credit Review Plan, and overseeing both internal staff and third-party co-source partners to fulfill planned engagements. The Credit Review Director is responsible for coordinating logistics and executing thorough credit portfolio evaluations and a continuous credit review monitoring program. This role involves assessing the risk associated with the Bank's credit portfolios and formulating a comprehensive, risk-based annual credit review strategy to conduct independent assurance testing on asset quality and portfolio management. Findings from reviews are presented to executive management and the board of directors. The position also entails collaboration with external examiners and auditors, ensuring compliance with all relevant policies, procedures, and regulatory frameworks.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the implementation of the Credit Review Policy, Standards, and Procedures that underpin the Credit Review methodology.
- Develop a Credit Review Risk Assessment that evaluates the Bank's credit and operational risks, ensuring regulatory compliance and accurate financial reporting.
- Design and execute an annual Credit Review Plan for in-depth portfolio assessments to gauge asset quality and the effectiveness of portfolio management, alongside ongoing monitoring and targeted reviews.
- Assist in formulating and executing the financial budget.
- Facilitate the selection of third-party co-source firms, prepare master service agreements, and oversee vendor performance to ensure compliance with contractual obligations.
- Direct Credit Review services executed by internal staff and external partners, ensuring team proficiency in conducting portfolio evaluations.
- Validate the accuracy and timeliness of asset quality risk ratings and ensure compliance with portfolio management requirements.
- Generate credit risk findings, identify root causes of discrepancies, and secure corrective action commitments from management.
- Collaborate with the Examiner in Charge to prepare comprehensive Credit Review reports, communicating results to management and the Risk Committee of the Board.
- Maintain compliance with SOX processes and controls.
- Participate in due diligence reviews for portfolio acquisitions.
- Support regulatory examinations and internal audit processes.
- Manage and mentor internal staff, overseeing daily operations, delegating tasks, and providing necessary training.
- Offer credit risk and business advisory insights to lending management and credit administration, recommending process enhancements.

Qualifications:
- Outstanding verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively with all levels of management, employees, auditors, and regulators.

- Advanced knowledge of applicable banking and accounting regulations.
- Proficient in addressing complex problems with multiple variables in non-standard situations.

- Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
- Knowledgeable in lending compliance with state and federal regulations.
- 8 - 10 years of experience in leading credit risk management teams, including credit review and regulatory supervision of commercial lending.
- Bachelor's degree in business administration, finance, accounting, or economics.
- Preferred completion of Credit Risk Certification or a formal credit program at a commercial bank.
- Experience with credit databases for analysis and reporting is preferred.
Salary Range: $190,000.00 USD; compensation may vary based on skills, experience, and location.
