We are looking for a skilled Account Manager to enhance our business operations.

  • Client Focus: Japanese Automotive Sector (Tier 2)

Position Summary

This role is crucial for identifying and cultivating new business prospects. The Account Manager will be tasked with generating new business opportunities, ensuring customer satisfaction through effective product sales, and addressing client needs.

Key Responsibilities

1. Business Development

  • Prepare and finalize documents requested by clients.
  • Engage with clients to understand their requirements and demonstrate how our products can fulfill those needs.
  • Deliver presentations about the company and its offerings to both potential and existing clients.
  • Travel within the designated territory to meet clients, solicit orders, and provide product information.
  • Showcase products through demonstrations or sales literature, highlighting key features.
  • Provide pricing quotes, create cost breakdowns based on information from headquarters, and draft sales contracts for secured orders; maintain comprehensive customer records.
  • Negotiate pricing for products and tooling, including annual price adjustments.
  • Estimate delivery dates based on inventory and logistics knowledge.
  • Compile sales activity reports and manage expense accounts.
  • Stay updated on new products, services, and relevant information that may interest clients.
  • Build and maintain relationships with key decision-makers, acting as the primary contact for major clients.
  • Develop and execute strategies to enhance product visibility, ensuring adequate stock levels to meet anticipated demand.
  • Collaborate with the Sales Manager to keep account activities current.
  • Share insights regarding client needs, pricing targets, specifications, delivery requirements, and quality concerns with various internal departments.
  • Oversee the schedule and performance of product development and mass production deliveries, resolving issues promptly.
  • Translate marketing and product-related documents from Japanese to English for client communication.
  • Act as a liaison for finance and quality issues, providing support to resolve problems.
  • Assist accounting in investigating delayed payments from clients, ensuring timely collections.

2. Marketing

  • Support the Sales Director in forecasting product sales trends and advising on competitive pricing strategies.
  • Monitor and assess the performance of competing products.
  • Gather production planning information from clients to facilitate new business acquisition and stabilize production launches.

3. Customer Service

  • Address initial quality concerns raised by clients, providing solutions.
  • Develop comprehensive profiles for assigned accounts to mitigate financial risks and ensure timely payment collection.

Additional Responsibilities

  • Enhance product knowledge and familiarize oneself with market trends.
  • Continuously seek improvements in work processes for efficiency and cost-effectiveness.
  • Undertake special projects and other duties as assigned by management.
  • Adhere to company policies and maintain a professional work environment.
  • Regularly travel to meet clients as required.
  • Follow up on assigned tasks to ensure completion.
  • Uphold high ethical standards in all workplace interactions.
  • Maintain effective communication with supervisors and colleagues.
  • Ensure a clean and safe working environment.
  • Support the implementation of quality control systems such as ISO9001/IATF16949.

Required Competencies

  • Critical Analysis: Ability to evaluate data and develop actionable insights.
  • Mathematical Proficiency: Competence in performing various calculations as needed.
  • Negotiation Skills: Capable of making trade-offs while achieving business objectives.
  • Presentation Skills: Effectively communicate information and ideas to groups.
  • Product Knowledge: Stay informed about the company's offerings.
  • Technical Communication: Proficient in specialized vocabulary and concepts.
  • Language Proficiency: Fluent in both English and Japanese.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Management or a related field preferred; or 4+ years of relevant experience.
  • Proficiency in reading, writing, and speaking both English and Japanese.
