Position Overview

The salary range for this position is $85-90K. This range is applicable for roles performed in Huntington Beach, California.
This represents the lowest to highest pay scale we believe we would offer for this role at the time of this posting.

Ultimately, we may pay more or less than the posted range, and this range may be adjusted in the future.

An employee's pay position within the pay range will depend on various factors including, but not limited to, relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, geographic location, performance, shift, travel, requirements, sales or revenue-based metrics, and business or organizational needs.


Important Note:

No amount of pay is considered wages or compensation until it is earned, vested, and determinable.

The amount and availability of any bonus, commission, or other forms of compensation that are allocable to a particular employee remain at the Company’s sole discretion unless and until paid and may be modified at the Company’s discretion, consistent with the law.

Key Responsibilities

This is a temporary role where you will collaborate with the General Manager to create an innovative and memorable dining experience for all guests by leading a knowledgeable front-of-house team.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Monitoring labor costs, staff development, scheduling, and daily service coordination.
  • Acting as an advocate for the restaurant and fostering relationships with guests to encourage repeat visits.
  • Greeting and welcoming all guests, addressing service complaints graciously, and providing information about the restaurant and surrounding area.
  • Assisting in directing daily activities and assignments of food and beverage staff, ensuring adequate coverage, and communicating departmental strategies and goals.
  • Leading service education through effective communication, training programs, performance management, and consistent evaluation of service standards.
  • Encouraging opportunities for team growth and skill development.
  • Assisting the GM with paperwork, including forms, reports, and schedules in an organized manner.
  • Participating in the annual budget process to meet financial objectives.
  • Focusing on cost control and improving the financial performance of the department.
  • Evaluating food products and kitchen employee performance to align with the restaurant's market position.
  • Developing a selection and pricing strategy for liquors and wines, overseeing their procurement.
  • Coordinating service area maintenance with management and staff.
  • Adhering to all Health and Safety regulations.
  • Providing regular, honest evaluations of team performance through the Kimpton Check-In process.

Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you should possess:

  • 1 to 2 years of experience in restaurant management, preferably in fine dining.
  • A Bachelor's Degree is preferred.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills.
  • A passion for crafting personalized guest experiences.
  • Strong motivation and flexibility, with the ability to take initiative.
  • Interpersonal and organizational skills with problem-solving abilities.
  • A flexible schedule, with availability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, guest reservation systems, POS systems, etc.
  • Food Handler and Alcohol Awareness Certifications (if applicable).
