Role Summary

Key Responsibilities:

  • Address inquiries and resolve concerns effectively.
  • Notify management of significant issues requiring attention.
  • Ensure patient confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA regulations.
  • Deliver outstanding service to create a positive initial impression of Northwestern Medicine.
  • Anticipate and fulfill patient requests, escalating issues as necessary.
  • Accurately gather and document patient demographic information.
  • Coordinate with various departments to facilitate patient scheduling.
  • Engage with patients to arrange appointments as needed.
  • Conduct medical necessity checks for scheduled services.
  • Communicate financial account issues to patients as they arise.
  • Provide cost estimations for services upon request.
  • Offer training and support to colleagues as required.
  • Manage tasks efficiently to meet deadlines.
  • Participate in cross-training initiatives to ensure operational coverage.
  • Engage in Quality Assurance activities to maintain data integrity.

Technology Utilization:

  • Send clear and grammatically correct messages within the system.
Efficiency and Process Improvement:
  • Proactively prevent issues by verifying appointment details.
  • Understand and collect essential registration data.
  • Monitor quality metrics for departmental performance.
  • Analyze account activities to identify and resolve issues.
  • Suggest enhancements to improve customer service and efficiency.
  • Engage in quality improvement initiatives within the department.
