We are seeking a highly skilled and customer-focused Patient Access Coordinator to join our team at Northwestern Medical Group. As a key member of our patient access team, you will be responsible for providing exceptional customer service to patients, ensuring a positive first impression of our organization.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide exceptional customer service to patients, responding to questions and concerns in a timely and professional manner.
  • Collect and verify patient demographic information, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
  • Interact with various hospital departments and physician offices to effectively schedule and direct patients through our systems.
  • Perform medical necessity checks and communicate options to patients as necessary.
  • Manage work schedule efficiently, completing tasks and assignments on time.
  • Participate in quality assurance reviews to ensure integrity of patient data information.
  • Utilize effective service recovery skills to solve problems or service breakdowns when they occur.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • 2-3 years of customer service or medical office experience preferred.
  • Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
  • Proficiency in computer data-entry/typing.
  • Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in English.
  • Basic computer skills.
  • Ability to type 40 wpm.
  • Ability to multi-task.
  • Customer service oriented.
  • Excellent organizational, time management, analytical, and problem-solving skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Additional education or training in healthcare or a related field.
  • Additional language skills.
  • Healthcare finance and/or healthcare insurance experience.
  • Knowledge and experience in a healthcare setting, especially patient scheduling and/or registration.
