As the Program Management Coordinator, you will oversee multiple organization-wide initiatives, including re-accreditation processes, strategic plan execution, policy reviews, and diversity, equity, and inclusion efforts, while also supporting other high-profile projects and state and national initiatives.

Your role will position you as a subject matter expert within the organization, utilizing your understanding of policies, analytical tools, and industry trends.

This position does not involve direct supervision of staff but emphasizes the importance of relationship-building and collaborative skills to guide and influence the entire organization through significant initiatives.

The projects you manage will have a lasting impact on the organization, the surrounding community, and the broader industry.


Loudoun County Government has been recognized as a leader in our industry’s accreditation efforts, and we aim to continue this legacy with our upcoming re-accreditation.

Key Responsibilities

Responsibilities include:

  • Leading project teams and assisting staff with project plans, objectives, and key performance indicators.
  • Executing large-scale projects and strategic plans to ensure the organization remains a leader in the field.
  • Overseeing department-wide initiatives to fulfill our mission of connecting communities through exceptional services.
  • Engaging with staff to ensure participation in departmental projects and best practices.
  • Providing executive updates on project progress and outcomes.
  • Managing multiple large-scale projects under the guidance of senior leadership.


Additional Duties Include:

  • Acting as a liaison between senior leadership and staff on various issues and projects.
  • Responding to inquiries related to projects from the community and coordinating accurate responses.
  • Playing a vital role in strategic planning and accreditation efforts.
  • Collaborating with cross-departmental project teams.
  • Meeting with vendors and contractors as necessary.
  • Addressing new and urgent projects to support the organization.
  • Utilizing creative problem-solving skills to address challenges independently.
  • Coordinating departmental policy review processes.
  • Managing project identification efforts and facilitating collaboration across divisions.
  • Completing special projects as assigned, either independently or as part of a team.
  • Representing the organization at various meetings and events.
  • Coordinating monitoring and reporting on project outcomes.
  • Serving as a liaison to advisory groups and committees.


Anticipated salary range is $65,000 to $89,386.47, commensurate with experience.

Qualifications


The ideal candidate will possess:

  • A Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field related to Parks and Recreation.
  • A minimum of three (3) years of project management experience, including at least one (1) year in related fields.
  • Special Requirements:


PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Experience in a Parks & Recreation agency.
  • Familiarity with CAPRA accreditation requirements.
  • Experience managing large-scale projects and working with vendors.
  • Membership or familiarity with relevant professional associations is beneficial.
  • CPRP or CPRE certification is a plus.


Successful candidates will be required to pass pre-employment background checks. Relevant industry certifications and project management credentials are desired.
