Job Summary

Loudoun County Government is seeking a highly skilled Aquatics Coordinator to manage various aspects of a designated program or group of programs and supervise staff within the designated department. The successful candidate will promote program services to the community, oversee the program budget, and ensure the delivery of program services.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement a maintenance schedule for the aquatic facility, ensuring compliance with Health Department regulations.
  • Monitor pool activities, identify potential hazards, and enforce pool rules and safety regulations.
  • Procure necessary pool-related supplies and equipment, adhering to Department guidelines.
  • Plan and implement aquatic programs and activities, including open swim, aquatics instruction, aquatic fitness, and special events.
  • Direct lifeguards and water attendant employees, ensuring accurate attendance record-keeping.
  • Perform daily and weekly chemical readings, maintaining detailed chemical logs, and ensuring pool chemical levels adhere to health code standards.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Leisure and Recreation Service or a closely related field.
  • Two years of relevant work experience, with at least one year in a supervisory role, or a comparable combination of education and experience.
  • Must be physically able to lift up to 50 pounds.
Preferred Qualifications
  • American Red Cross Lifeguard Instructor Trainer and/or Water Safety Instructor Trainer or equivalent.
  • CPRP certification or equivalent.
  • Membership and involvement in related professional organization(s).
Job Contingencies and Special Requirements
  • Satisfactorily pass pre-employment screenings for criminal, credit, and DMV backgrounds.
  • A valid driver's license and a clean driving record.
