SpaceX is on a mission to revolutionize space exploration and make human life multi-planetary. We are seeking skilled professionals to join our Spacecraft Integration - Dragon team.

As a Spacecraft Operations Engineer, you will leverage your expertise and innovative thinking to lead a team focused on developing cutting-edge solutions for human spaceflight operations and vehicle reusability.

Your responsibilities will encompass:

  • Creating and implementing protocols for the integration, testing, and operation of Crew/Cargo Dragon flight systems.
  • Overseeing the integration of Dragon ground support equipment and ensuring operational readiness.
  • Facilitating daily mission-specific activities at the launch site, including critical maintenance and vehicle processing tasks.
  • Conducting system-level checkouts and hazardous operations as a test conductor.
  • Refining inspection and repair procedures based on insights gained from both flight and ground experiences.
  • Managing work orders and addressing non-conformances to drive system enhancements.
  • Collaborating closely with engineering teams and skilled technicians to ensure seamless operations.
  • Engaging with customers on pre- and post-flight preparations for human spaceflight missions.
  • Effectively communicating vehicle status to various stakeholders during readiness reviews.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering, aerospace engineering, electrical engineering, or a related field.
  • A minimum of 1 year of experience in multi-disciplinary system assemblies, including internships or projects related to aerospace vehicles.

Preferred Skills:

  • Experience with spacecraft or launch vehicle operations.
  • Familiarity with hypergolic propellants and high-pressure systems.
  • Proficiency in writing test plans and procedures.
  • Hands-on experience with CAD software and large models.
  • Strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.

Additional Requirements:

  • Ability to pass a background check.
  • Physical capability to handle moderately heavy materials.
  • Willingness to work with hazardous materials and in various environments.
