Our pioneering technology, initially developed in Caltech's laboratories, employs established electrochemical methods to facilitate large-scale carbon dioxide (CO2) extraction from the atmosphere through direct ocean capture. We utilize renewable electricity and seawater for this process, ensuring no harmful byproducts are produced. The CO2-depleted seawater is then returned to the ocean, enhancing its capacity to absorb atmospheric CO2.

As the EHS and Facilities Operations Manager, you will play a crucial role in the effective oversight of Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) initiatives, while also managing the maintenance, safety, and operational efficiency of our facilities across two sites.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Foster a culture of workplace safety and develop, implement, and oversee EHS programs at both locations.
  • Ensure adherence to policies that align with EHS standards.
  • Centralize laboratory facility processes, including equipment maintenance and safety supply management.
  • Conduct regular inspections and maintenance of all facilities and laboratory apparatus.
  • Coordinate the safe and timely disposal of hazardous waste with certified vendors.
  • Lead investigations into near misses, incidents, and OSHA-recordable injuries or illnesses.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including R&D, operations, and HR, to integrate EHS considerations into all business operations.
  • Assist in initiatives related to business growth and expansion.

Educational/Experience Requirements:

  • 2-8 years of experience in EHS and facilities management, particularly in laboratory or chemical settings.
  • Comprehensive understanding of EHS regulations and best practices, especially in California.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Proficient in EHS management software.
  • A Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Safety, Occupational Safety and Health, Chemistry, or a related field is advantageous.
  • Physical capability to lift up to 50 lbs.

Compensation

  • Competitive base salary ranging from $95,000 to $125,000.
  • Variable Pay with a target of 10%.
