Your Role and Responsibilities
The ideal candidate will be responsible for guiding and training maintenance personnel in the operation and upkeep of plant equipment, maintenance protocols, and enhancing the skill set of technicians.
- Adhere to all Air Liquide Safety, Health, and Environmental policies and procedures.
- Understand and apply typical permit operating requirements to ensure compliance.
- Evaluate the facility's adherence to the Industrial Management System (IMS) and identify areas for improvement.
- Coordinate and oversee maintenance activities across various disciplines while assisting the Maintenance Manager with policy administration.
- Lead the implementation of solutions for maintenance challenges and conduct failure analysis.
- Collaborate with suppliers to supervise external shop work during equipment repairs and fabrication.
- Manage predictive and preventive maintenance programs using Maximo, ensuring detailed job plans and follow-up on corrective actions.
- Maintain accurate documentation of maintenance activities within the CMMS (Maximo).
- Review vendor repair and inspection reports, communicating findings to plant management and ensuring follow-up work orders are issued.
- Evaluate project scopes and maintenance tasks.
- Support engineering projects on-site and collaborate with engineering teams and contractors as necessary.
- Facilitate communication between local maintenance teams, zone maintenance teams, and operations to ensure efficient execution of maintenance work.
- Work alongside the maintenance manager to achieve high compliance rates in preventive maintenance programs.
- Commit to eliminating overdue preventive maintenance tasks.
- Plan maintenance activities effectively using Maximo and the work order system.
- Assist in analyzing predictive maintenance data and participate in root cause analysis and vulnerability assessments.
- Adapt maintenance strategies based on findings from analyses and risk assessments.
- Oversee major maintenance activities and turnarounds, ensuring completion within budget and schedule.
- Contribute to the preparation of capital and maintenance budgets to sustain plant equipment.
- Engage in the development of annual maintenance schedules and turnaround plans.
- Promote the GCPL Maintenance Management Process and adhere to corporate standards.
- Review critical spare parts inventory and provide feedback for improvement.
- Monitor contractor performance and quality of work.
- Assist in maintaining equipment manuals and documentation.
- Propose enhancements to plant safety, efficiency, reliability, and quality.
- Lead investigations into maintenance incidents and drive improvements based on findings.
- Uphold high standards of housekeeping within the facility.
Leadership and Development
- Exemplify safety behavior and promote a culture of safety.
- Guide the training and development of junior engineers and technicians to ensure competence.
- Conduct performance reviews for maintenance staff and develop performance improvement plans.
- Provide constructive feedback to management and support organizational decisions.
- Familiarize yourself with administrative and operational policies.
Cost Management
- Monitor and optimize operating costs within the authorized budget.
- Identify opportunities for cost reduction and document savings.
- Learn to use efficiency indicators to enhance plant performance.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering is required.
- A minimum of 7 years of experience in process plant maintenance and engineering environments.
- Strong knowledge of maintenance practices related to rotating equipment, pumps, compressors, turbines, and electrical distribution systems.
- Proficient in using a CMMS, preferably Maximo.
- Familiarity with root cause analysis techniques and project management skills.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and leadership abilities.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively.
- Experience in proactive maintenance planning and scheduling.
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Physical capability to lift 50 lbs and perform necessary tasks.
- Must have valid employment authorization in the U.S. without requiring visa sponsorship.
