Position Title: Residential Services Coordinator

Overview:

The Residential Services Coordinator plays a crucial role in supporting women transitioning from temporary shelters to permanent housing. This position is dedicated to providing essential services that empower individuals to manage their independent living successfully.

The Coordinator collaborates with residents to enhance their household management and communication skills, ensuring they can maintain their living spaces and effectively navigate supportive systems. This role also encompasses responsibilities related to leasing, rent collection, and providing assistance to tenants and Tenant Service staff.


Reporting Structure:
This position reports directly to the Property Manager.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Coordinate with maintenance personnel for both routine and emergency repairs. The Coordinator must be available for emergencies and maintain a list of local service providers (e.g., locksmiths, plumbers, electricians) to address urgent issues.
  • Assist new residents in selecting and purchasing furniture and household items.
  • Facilitate the selection and ordering of furnishings for transitional housing units.
  • Organize and conduct apartment viewings with prospective residents and their Case Managers.
  • Ensure utility accounts are established and activated for incoming residents, and manage account transfers as necessary.
  • Prepare required documentation for residents to apply for benefits and rental assistance.
  • Inspect vacated units, conduct housing quality standards inspections, and prepare units for new occupancy.
  • Conduct scheduled inspections of units as directed by the Property Manager.
  • Collaborate with the Property Management team on license fee collection and preparation of Tenant Rent Ledgers to facilitate timely rent payments.
  • Track maintenance requests and communicate with the maintenance team to ensure timely completion.
  • Maintain organized physical and digital records for easy access by the Property Manager and staff.
  • Implement a "Basic Apartment Maintenance" program for new residents, offering workshops and one-on-one assistance to develop essential household maintenance skills.
  • Support Tenant Services with special events and community activities.
  • Report any health and safety concerns affecting residents and document incidents in the case management system.

Qualifications:

Applicants should possess a minimum of a High School Diploma or equivalent, along with experience in property management or related fields (e.g., janitorial, maintenance, property administration). Strong interpersonal communication, organizational, writing, and computer skills are essential. Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word is required, and bilingual skills are advantageous but not mandatory. Some evening hours may be necessary.


Physical Requirements:
  • Ability to walk distances of up to 1 mile and navigate uneven terrain.
  • Capability to lift up to 60 pounds.
  • Fine motor skills for basic repairs and maintenance tasks.
  • Familiarity with using basic cleaning chemicals in daily operations.

Compensation:

The hourly rate for this position is $25.00.
