Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Linen Technician to join our team at St. David's North Austin Medical Center. As a key member of our environmental services team, you will be responsible for ensuring the efficient distribution of clean linens to all departments, maintaining a sufficient supply of clean linens, and performing various duties to maintain the hospital's cleanliness and sanitation.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist in the distribution of clean linens to all departments, ensuring timely and accurate delivery
  • Maintain a sufficient supply of clean linens, monitoring inventory levels and reporting shortages to management
  • Perform various environmental services duties, including cleaning and disinfecting linen carts and shelves, to maintain a clean and sanitary environment
  • Participate in providing patient-specific care standards, adhering to hospital policies and procedures
  • Follow linen department procedures, ensuring compliance with hospital protocols and regulations
  • Stock linen carts on each unit according to set PAR levels, ensuring adequate supply and minimizing waste
  • Document all emergency deliveries, maintaining accurate records and reports
  • Routinely disinfect cart used to deliver linen, maintaining a clean and sanitary environment
  • Maintain linen shelves in a neat and orderly manner, ensuring easy access and visibility
  • Report linen shortages immediately, ensuring timely replenishment and minimizing disruptions
  • Maintain the cleanliness and environment of the Linen Room, adhering to hospital standards and protocols
Requirements
  • Must be able to demonstrate understanding of national safety initiatives, adhering to all safety protocols and procedures required by both HCA and St. David's North Austin Medical Center
  • Ability to communicate in English, both written and orally, with patients, staff, and management
  • High School Diploma or GED, with relevant experience in environmental services or a related field
