The Massachusetts Water Resources Authority is looking for an OMC Laborer to undertake various routine and skilled manual tasks as assigned. This role involves supporting operations, maintenance, and skilled trades personnel as needed.

The responsibilities include:

  • Executing tasks that require specialized skills in the maintenance and operation of various equipment, including but not limited to pickup trucks, pump trucks, tractors, mowers, pumps, generators, pneumatic tools, cement mixers, air compressors, and snow removal equipment.
  • Assisting skilled tradesmen in construction, maintenance, and repair tasks, which may involve minor adjustments and repairs of equipment.
  • Performing a range of manual tasks related to valve operations, pipeline construction, and maintenance, such as cleaning culverts and drains, digging ditches, spreading asphalt, caulking lead joints, and aiding in valve installations and repairs.
  • Maintaining vehicles and various grounds maintenance equipment.

This position requires a high school diploma or GED, along with a solid understanding of common tools and construction and sewer maintenance equipment. Candidates must possess the ability to operate different types of vehicles and equipment, perform semi-skilled manual labor, and hold a valid Class B Commercial Driver's License.

Additionally, this role is subject to the MWRA Controlled Substance and Alcohol Testing Policy, including a random drug-testing program. The position may require overtime shifts and/or regular on-call rotations and is designated as essential for situations where the MWRA Executive Director requires essential personnel to report to work.

Annual Salary: $60,158.32
