About the Role

Mission Graduates is seeking a dedicated and passionate individual to join our team as an After School Program Teacher. As a key member of our staff, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality educational programs and services to our students.

Key Responsibilities
  • Program Planning and Implementation: Develop and lead daily academic and enrichment activities for students, utilizing standards-based curriculum to write lesson plans that promote literacy development.
  • Classroom Management: Create a nurturing, safe, respectful, and multicultural learning environment that supports student academic and personal achievement.
  • Volunteer Coordination: Coordinate and support volunteers in the classroom, ensuring a positive and productive learning experience for all students.
  • Communication and Feedback: Establish and maintain ongoing communication and feedback systems with families, teachers, and volunteers to ensure a collaborative and supportive environment.
  • Program Evaluation and Improvement: Monitor student progress, maintain accurate youth files and records, and participate in staff development, team, and supervision meetings to ensure the continuous improvement of our programs.
Requirements
  • Education and Experience: Strong interest in education and teaching, with a passion for working with students and youth.
  • Cultural Competence: Understanding of youth development principles and the ability to relate effectively to diverse communities and demonstrate understanding of cultural diversity.
  • Language Skills: Bilingual Spanish/English fluency is highly desirable.
  • Professional Certifications: TB test clearance and current CPR certification are mandatory prior to hire.
What We Offer
  • Competitive Salary: $21.00-$24.00 per hour.
