Position Overview

The selected candidate will play a vital role in the development and execution of high-quality programs for elementary students that enhance their intellectual, social, emotional, and physical growth. The educator will ensure a secure and educational atmosphere for children by effectively implementing the K8 curriculum and daily activities.

The Extended Care Educator will work Monday through Friday from 2:30 PM to 6:00 PM, with a slight adjustment on Wednesdays from 1:30 PM to 6:00 PM. Key Responsibilities
  • Uphold a high standard of professionalism at all times.
  • Deliver programs designed by the Director of Auxiliary Programs.
  • Facilitate table activities for children.
  • Oversee snack time and outdoor play.
  • Assist children with their daily needs.
  • Maintain a tidy environment.
  • Lead group activities.
Essential Duties
  • Execute the program curriculum as outlined by the Director of Auxiliary Programs to guarantee a quality experience for all participants.
  • Collaborate with the Director of Auxiliary Programs to create engaging, developmentally appropriate educational enrichment activities that extend learning beyond the classroom.
  • Foster professional relationships through effective communication with the Director of Auxiliary Programs, school directors, and other staff members.
  • Work cooperatively as a team member, sharing information continuously.
  • Assist in addressing the ongoing needs of students and parents.
  • Implement program procedures to ensure the safety of all participants.
  • Observe and engage in children's play activities.
  • Promote a safe and healthy environment adhering to established safety standards.
  • Redirect inappropriate behaviors and implement the discipline system effectively.
  • Support the emotional and social development of children.
  • Report any concerns regarding the program to the Director of Auxiliary Programs.
  • Maintain organized records such as attendance and incident reports.
  • Assist in preparing snacks and cleaning the snack area.
  • Help maintain cleanliness and organization of the room and equipment.
  • Engage in professional development through meetings and training days.
  • Exhibit professional, ethical, and responsible behavior.
  • Spend quality time with students to foster their holistic development.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications

Required Skills
  • Fluency in English is essential; proficiency in Italian is preferred.
  • Enthusiastic, child-focused, and creative individuals are encouraged to apply.
  • Strong problem-solving, creativity, and multitasking abilities.
  • Excellent attendance and punctuality.
  • Experience with the IB framework is advantageous.
Required Experience
  • Prior experience working with children is necessary.
  • Authorization to work in the U.S. is required.

Successful candidates must provide documentation to verify eligibility to work in the United States and pass background checks as part of the employment process.

Estimated hourly compensation for this part-time role ranges from $22 to $26, based on qualifications and experience.
