The San Francisco Film School is on the lookout for knowledgeable and enthusiastic educators to enhance our teaching staff in various filmmaking disciplines:

  • CONTENT CREATION FOR DIGITAL PLATFORMS
  • ART DIRECTION
  • FILM PRODUCTION AND DIRECTION
  • VIDEO EDITING
  • CAMERA WORK
  • SOUND DESIGN
  • SCREENWRITING

Applicants should possess a bachelor's degree in filmmaking or a related discipline and have a minimum of three (3) years of industry experience. A comprehensive portfolio is essential.

We are consistently broadening our network of qualified faculty members. Instructors are expected to commit at least 6 hours weekly to teaching. Opportunities for both local and remote engagement are available.

Compensation: $50 - $60 per hour

Key Responsibilities:

Faculty members will be responsible for:

  • Collaborating with the Director of Education to design course curricula
  • Encouraging student engagement
  • Creating an inclusive learning atmosphere
  • Completing instructional duties in a timely and professional manner
  • Participating in faculty meetings
  • Cooperating with school administration on student-related issues
Required Qualifications:

Specific qualifications for various roles include:

Digital Content Creation Instructor

  • At least 3 years of professional experience in digital content production
  • Bachelor's degree in design, media, film, or a related field
  • Extensive knowledge of digital platforms

Art Direction Instructor

  • A minimum of five years of experience as an Art Director or in a similar role
  • Bachelor's degree in film or a related field

Film Production and Direction Instructor

  • At least five years of professional experience in film production
  • Bachelor's degree in film or a related field
  • Familiarity with production budgeting and scheduling tools
