Job Summary

The New School of San Francisco is seeking a highly motivated and experienced instructor to join our Exploremos after-school program team. As an Exploremos Instructor, you will provide academic support, enriching program activities, and help foster an environment where Kindergarten through 2nd grade students can thrive.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement engaging and diverse activities for children ages 5-12 based on a specific theme
  • Work collaboratively with team members and parents to ensure a positive and inclusive learning environment
  • Provide academic support and enrichment activities that promote social, emotional, and cognitive development
  • Build loving rapport with children from diverse backgrounds and create a safe and supportive space for them to learn and grow
  • Participate in program planning and evaluation to ensure high-quality programming
Requirements
  • High school degree or equivalent
  • Experience working with children in an out-of-school program (summer camp, after-school, tutoring, etc)
  • Ability to create engaging and diverse activities for children ages 5-12 based on a specific theme
  • Excellent organization, time management, and follow-up skills
  • Strong customer service skill set
  • Ability to work collaboratively with team members and parents
  • Ability to respond quickly and thoughtfully to critical incidents
  • Deep commitment to equitable teaching and learning
  • Must clear FBI and local background checks, as well as a negative TB test
