About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Sous Chef to join our team at St. Vincent de Paul CARES. As a key member of our culinary team, you will be responsible for assisting the Executive Chef in the management of the day-to-day operations of the Food Center.

Key Responsibilities
  • Supervise and train Food Center personnel in food preparation and service
  • Assist in developing menus and ensuring compliance with food service regulations
  • Work closely with church groups and other stakeholders to provide evening meals to clients
  • Manage inventory and supplies to ensure efficient operations
  • Supervise cooks and volunteers in meal preparation and service
  • Track and report food donations and inventory
  • Ensure the kitchen and dining area are clean and well-maintained
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; culinary arts training preferred
  • 2-3 years of experience in a restaurant, catering service, or institution
  • Manager ServSafe certification required
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and multitask
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills
