Job Overview

Library Systems & Services is in search of a dynamic and innovative Communications and Marketing Specialist to enhance our outreach efforts. In this pivotal role, you will lead the formulation and execution of marketing and communication strategies that align with our organizational goals.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and implement comprehensive marketing and communication plans to support the Library's mission and initiatives.
  • Ensure brand consistency across all marketing channels and materials.
  • Collaborate with team members to create engaging print and digital promotional content, including brochures, newsletters, and social media posts.
  • Draft press releases, talking points, and other communications for stakeholders.
  • Work alongside the website manager to maintain accurate and up-to-date content that reflects our branding.
  • Conduct surveys to gather feedback on library services and materials.
  • Manage the library's social media platforms, developing strategies to enhance engagement and grow our audience.
  • Analyze marketing performance data to assess campaign effectiveness and identify opportunities for improvement.
  • Partner with colleagues to develop multifaceted marketing strategies that promote library services and events.
  • Address patron inquiries and concerns as directed by leadership.
  • Oversee the distribution and effectiveness of promotional materials.
  • Ensure preservation of digital files for all marketing content.
  • Engage in community outreach initiatives to strengthen the library's presence and foster community relationships.
  • Build and maintain partnerships with local organizations.
  • Present library initiatives to community leaders.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent coursework.
  • Demonstrated experience in marketing, ideally within a library or educational context.
  • Proficient in design tools such as Canva, as well as Microsoft Office Suite and Google Workspace.
  • Experience in managing social media accounts and executing effective campaigns.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret marketing data.
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication abilities.
  • Capacity to work independently while collaborating effectively with team members.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.
  • Genuine passion for libraries and promoting literacy and education.
  • Flexibility to adapt to changing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Familiarity with SEO principles and content marketing strategies is advantageous.
